Digital Support

We're here to help!

As part of the Study Skills team at USW, we provide student assisted digital support.

During term-time

Within term- time we have digital mentors located primarily in the USW Treforest Library.

These Digital Mentors are also available via online drop in sessions and by email. Feel free to email us anytime with digital support queries, term-time and out of term-time.

For more information regarding our availability, see the contact us section.

Our Digital Mentors support students with many aspects of digital navigation.

Some examples include:

  • Navigating Blackboard and Unilife
  • Help with printing and scanning
  • Joining online lectures and using Blackboard Collaborate
  • Support with accessing systems, Wi-Fi, logging in, and more.

Contact us

If you require assistance or want to arrange a session, please email [email protected] and we will offer support as soon as we are able.

Out of term-time

Our team of Digital Mentors are unavailable out of term-time. However, to keep you going all year round, here are some digital support resources based on frequently asked questions.

Office 365

At this University, you have the opportunity to download Office 365 to your personal devices.

Visit the USW Office 365 Portal for more information and easy access to training and supporting materials.

Printing at USW

Printing on campus can be daunting for a lot of students who do not know how to use the printing system here at USW.

So here is some useful information to get you started.

Turnitin

Turnitin is a tool used by USW to help to avoid plagiarism within online coursework submissions. This system provides students a report on which parts of your work may have come from other sources.

Unilearn

Unilearn is the term for the integrated system and tools which support USW teaching and learning activities through technology.

More resources

There are many supportive pages on the IT Services webpage here at USW. They provide supportive materials for queries such as Wi-fi, account access and security, facilities and software, attendance monitoring and many more.
